The result is a lightweight, Triple Curve, NIJ 04 Level IV certified ballistic solution capable of defeating multiple hits of 5.56 (M193, M855, M855A1), 7.62x39 (FMJ, M1943, API), 7.62 x 51mm (M80 Ball/M61AP, M80A1) and is also capable of stopping 7.62 x 54R (LPS/B-32API) and 30.06 AP M2.

WHICH PLATE SIZE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Personal preference is the single most important determining factor when choosing the right size armor for any individual. The wearer must feel comfortable in whatever system and size they choose in order to maximize the effectiveness of any armor system. That having been said, the prior standard for all plates was 10”x12”. Military specifications now include a full range of sizes from Small to Extra Large, however size Medium, 9.5”x12.5” is considered the ideal fit for the 95th percentile, meaning that Medium is designed to fit 95% of all military personnel. 

In order to provide a more easily discernible size chart we focus on the height of an individual as the most important factor in determining proper fitment. See the outline below for a general height / plate size reference. Keep in mind, personal build, and personal preference are the most important factors.

NIJ 06 Certified Level IV Armor Plates (26600)

The 26600 is a single curve hard armor, Multi-Hit, Stand Alone plate certified under the NIJ 0101.06 Level IV Standard. Manufactured from high-density, reinforced alumina ceramic core (Al2O3) backed with lightweight layered polymer composite fiber and finished in a black Cordura Nylon Covering. A foam pad is affixed to the Strike Face in order to protect against severe and repeated drops. NIJ standards require 2 drops. These plates must pass the internal 10 drop test and are inspected via X-Ray prior to environmental and ballistic testing.

The materials used in the fabrication of these plates allows for projectiles to be absorbed within the plate itself, preventing dangerous spall as is common with steel plates. Don't rely on your carrier to stop high speed bullet fragmentation
