The CM-8M tactical full-face respirator is a next-gen CBRN mask, specially engineered to meet and exceed the strictest military requirements. Thanks to a unique new visor design, it provides unparalleled visibility combined with optics compatibility, along with a six-point mesh head harness for added stability. Like all MIRA Safety CBRN gas masks, it also provides trusted protection from a full spectrum of toxic industrial chemicals (TIC) and chemical warfare agents (CWA) including chemical, biological and nuclear threats such as radioactive dust, noxious gas, vaporized pollutants and more.

Maximum Situational Awareness

The CM-8M features a radically re-engineered visor that combines an unmatched field of view (over 92%), with a contoured shape that’s 100% compatible with popular Night Vision, Rifle Scopes and Thermal Optic setups. That means preserving crucial peripheral vision while ensuring functionality in even the most hostile environments. That means not just an enhanced field of view, but enhanced overall awareness—allowing you to quickly and confidently assess and engage threats as needed.

CM-8M Full Face Respirator Sizing

For the initial launch, the CM-8M will come in one universal size. The fit will be similar to the medium CM-7M, and the CM-6M, which also come in one universal size. We do not recommend this mask for people with smaller-than-average head shapes, nor do we recommend it for above-average head shapes. Always conduct a negative pressure test to ensure you are getting a tight seal, and conduct this test each time when donning the mask.

The CM-8M has been tested with a wide variety of high-cut helmets and shown to integrate seamlessly. However, if the wearer has a small head, the mask may not fit well with a helmet.

Mission-Flexible

As opposed to some full-face respirators that are extremely specialized and mission-specific, the CM-8M was designed as a mission-flexible upgrade for civilians, law enforcement and military alike. Since it’s not a dedicated military mask, that means everyone can tap into the same level of protection that’s trusted by top Special Forces.

MIRA Safety Strategic Support

The CM-8M is part of the MIRA Safety family of masks; which means it uses the same filter cartridges, components and optional upgrades as your existing MIRA Safety masks. It’s compatible with the MIRA Safety Microphone System and Replacement Parts Kit, and it features the same basic construction as your existing MIRA Safety masks; allowing for rapid transition and upgrade to the CM-8M from existing platforms.

Technical Specifications

The CM-8M gas mask is made from thick bromobutyl rubber (CBRN-compliant) with a polycarbonate mask and a 6-point mesh head harness to ensure a rock-solid fit for users of all sizes.

The key improvement for the new CM-8M is its uniquely-contoured polycarbonate visor, combining unparalleled field-of-view with a flat front that works perfectly with all your optics and NVG systems.

We’ve also refined our existing gas mask designs, maximizing ergonomics and minimizing the overall size of the mask. The full-face respirator’s inner mask is made from a special hypoallergenic compound that prevents fogging and reduces carbon dioxide(CO2) content in the mask’s inner space, improving comfort for long hours of potential usage.

The CM-8M features a central speech diaphragm that ensures at least 95% intelligibility of speech; however the gas mask microphone is strongly recommended as an upgrade for all MIRA Safety masks. MIRA Safety replacement parts are compatible with the CM-8M mask, and more new accessories will be available for the platform soon.

Like all MIRA Safety masks, the CM-8M is designed for use with “NATO standard” filter cartridges (Rd 40 x 1/7” thread in accordance with the EN 148-1 standard).

Selection of a suitable filter depends on the type and concentration of anticipated toxic agent. The CM-8M tactical mask equipped with a TIC or CWA filter is only safe for use in an environment containing at least 19.5% oxygen. The principles of filter selection and application are described in the filter user guides.

The CM-8M tactical gas mask may be used in class 1 explosive environments only. The CM-8M mask meets all of the requirements for class 3 of the EN 136 standard. It’s a great choice for riot gear or as a riot control gas mask.

Storage

The CM-8M tactical gas mask must be stored in a dark, cool and dust-free place free from sudden temperature changes. The storage room should be ventilated regularly. Temperatures may vary between 10°C and 25°C within relative humidity up to 65%. NBC gas masks must not be exposed to radiant heat or sunshine. Fuels, solvents, lubricants and other inflammable substances, including chemicals, must not be stored with masks. Moreover, there must not be any electrical machines or appliances that produce sparks or discharges during operation (ozone creation).

Avoid deformation of the rubber parts of the facepiece and internal CBRN gas mask during storage.

The materials used in the fabrication of the 26605 series allows for projectiles to be absorbed within the body armor plate itself, preventing dangerous spall as is common with steel plates. Don't rely on your carrier to stop high speed bullet fragmentation.

The 26605 is a Triple-curve hard armor, Multi-Hit, Stand Alone, SAPI plate certified under the NIJ 0101.06 Level IV Standard. The multiple geometric contours of the plate design result in one of the most comfortable plates ever created. Manufactured from high-density alumina ceramic core (Al2O3) backed with layered polymer composite fiber. Finished in a Durable Cordura wrap to protect against UV Rays, dirt, dust and water.

WHICH PLATE SIZE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Personal preference is the single most important determining factor when choosing the right size armor for any individual. The wearer must feel comfortable in whatever system and size they choose in order to maximize the effectiveness of any armor system. That having been said, the prior standard for all plates was 10”x12”. Military specifications now include a full range of sizes from Small to Extra Large, however size Medium, 9.5”x12.5” is considered the ideal fit for the 95th percentile, meaning that Medium is designed to fit 95% of all military personnel.

In order to provide a more easily discernible size chart we focus on the height of an individual as the most important factor in determining proper fitment. See the outline below for a general height / plate size reference. Keep in mind, personal build, and personal preference are the most important factors.

The CM-7M CBRN military gas mask was designed and developed in cooperation with Czech Army specialists and specifically developed for use with a wide array of optics for advanced tactical capability.

The CM-7M hazmat mask meets the EN 136 (Class III) and EN 148-1 standards and is available in three sizes, providing a perfect fit for practically any user. A NATO-standard filter canister can be mounted on either (or both) side of the military mask to make it easier to aim a gun whether right- or left-handed.

The material of the facepiece (bromobutyl rubber) on this NATO gas mask provides extraordinary protection against all known chemical warfare agents, along with biological, nuclear, radiological, and industrial chemical agents.

This tactical gas mask is designed to withstand long-term use in any weather conditions. The inner mask features comfortable hypoallergenic construction that reduces the content of carbon dioxide in the mask and regulates the flow of inhaled air to prevent fogging for more comfortable all-day use.

The inhalation chambers on this army gas mask are fitted with the Rd 40 x 1/7” thread in accordance with the EN 148-1 (NATO) standard. This ensures compatibility with the widest range of filters readily available on the market today.

These military-grade gas masks are manufactured under the permanent supervision of a representative of the Czech Ministry of Defense and are trusted by military and police users in a wide variety of countries.

The lenses of the CM-7M warfare mask are specifically crafted to ensure compatibility with all kinds of optical devices while providing a sufficient field of vision. The dual lens configuration provides superior depth perception when compared to a single panoramic faceplate, making it ideal for use with rifle iron sights or in combat.

The CM-7M nuclear gas mask is equipped with a drinking system that enables safe drinking in contaminated areas. The drinking system is also compatible with CamelBak hydration systems.

CM-7M Military Gas Mask Service Life

The storage and service life of the CM-7M full-face respirator / tactical gas mask is 20 years from the date of production, provided that the recommended storage conditions are observed.

To size yourself, it would require a device called a faciometer which is not very common.

Size 2 (medium) fits 95% of the population, so if you're an average size person, we would suggest size 2. For smaller than average people who weigh 130lb or less, with thin faces, we would suggest size 1 (small). For users over 250 lbs and wide faces, go with large.

You will know the size is right if you do a negative pressure test (blocking the inhalation valve and taking a deep breath), and the mask seals tightly to your face.
